Approaching 2019, through these valued experiences, he was honored to support the Women's Council of Realtors by becoming its sponsor—a milestone achieved through extensive hours spent honing his industry expertise. The year 2020 marked a significant achievement in his career with the launch of Nubuildz.com, an innovative online platform offering bespoke home search options for Wake County and its surroundings. This endeavor was realized through collective effort, embodying the realization of ambitious dreams. After numerous years devoted to the mortgage sector, he seized the opportunity to concentrate on his passion: elevating Nubuildz.com. This platform was not just another real estate website; it represented a pivotal moment for him and allowed for significant contributions across various sectors. Adding to the excitement, May 2022 ushered in a special opportunity as he took on the role of Co-Chair at the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County. While continuing his work with Nubuildz.com, this expanded role promised to foster unlimited connections and ambitions, making the decision to accept the offer a straightforward one. He aspires to continue his professional development and contribute further to the Real Estate Community in numerous ways.
In 2023, he ventured into a new project, Square One Built, a bold step into specializing as a Custom Home Builder with an emphasis on new constructions. Despite his extensive experience and commitment, the company faced unprecedented challenges, leading to its closure in early 2024 due to insufficient funding and a shortage of buyers. Within this partnership, his responsibilities were intricately tied to Business Development, focusing on the strategic expansion of the company's footprint in the industry. He actively engaged in nurturing relationships with key figures such as developers, realtors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and specialists in land acquisition, aiming to secure new lots for prospective residential projects. He was also directly responsible for overseeing the permitting process and the holistic management of the company's operations, to foster project success and ensure growth. Despite the setback with Square One Built, his deep-seated passion and resilience in the realm of custom home building and real estate development remained undiminished, highlighting his dedication to continuous professional evolution and contribution to the sector.
Despite the unfortunate closure of Square One Built, it's worth mentioning that Nubuildz.com continues to thrive and Michael remains a significant partner in the Nubuildz sphere. This sustained success acts as a testament to the enduring vision and commitment that initially propelled its creation. As of April 2024, Michael, undeterred by past challenges, is set on a new journey. Armed with an impressive array of skills honed over years within the real estate and homebuilding industries, he is actively seeking opportunities that align with his expansive expertise and professional passions. This forward-looking approach underscores his resilience and unwavering dedication to contributing meaningfully to the real estate community, showcasing a readiness to adapt and excel in new endeavors.
Hodge is Michael’s best friend. He is a Plott Hound which is also the State of North Carolina’s Dog as of 1989. Originally these hounds were bred for hunting Bears. Hodge though is not a hunter, he is a pleaser loves kids, humans, and other fellow dogs. If you know Michael well you’ll get to know Hodge too.
